Digital archiving maintains the efficiency of document imaging, while providing a storage solution that is not dependent on technology.

This hybrid approach involves two steps: first the document is scanned and stored on CD Rom, to be used for quick retrieval. A backup copy is then microfilmed for archival integrity.
